"Looking through photos can bring a flood of memories and emotions. It can transport you back to a place, remind you of the warmth and even the smells, reinforce that memory of the love as you said your “I do’s” That’s what I love most about photography. Capturing beautiful images for people to enjoy and share with their friends and loved ones for years to come. Photos that will make you laugh, cry, and say “remember when…”
I’m very laid back and love nature. I moved to Traverse City from St. Louis, Missouri and absolutely LOVE it here. A few of my favorite things - hiking, biking, paddle boarding, dancing, long talks over morning coffee, a good book, writing and traveling with my husband.
I absolutely love what I do and can't wait to give you those images that are not only beautiful but make you feel warm & fuzzy feeling that makes you smile.
Yes you read that right. We are Eric and Erika. Otherwise known as E2. As a mother of two, I know how important it is to capture all those precious moments that pass us by so quickly. Photography has given me the chance to keep my memories alive forever. I truly love sharing my passion with others, giving them a chance to walk down memory lane for years to come.
We live in a small town in Northern Michigan that I bet you’ve never heard of. I grew up in Grand Rapids, so living in the country was a new adventure for me. Now I can’t imagine life any other way. We love Michigan summers. After being cooped up all winter long, you can find us taking walks through our family’s 40 acre woods or cruising along on our quads. We also enjoy playing guitar and singing together. In fact, thats how our story starts. The night we met, we got the chance to play a song for each other around a campfire and the rest is history! Our daughters seem to have gotten the musical gene too.
My husband Eric likes to call himself my manager. He’s always keeping my gear up to date and ready to go for each shoot. Im glad he has taken such an interest in what I do. It gives us the chance to spend even more time together and work as a team. While I’m getting the main shots, you’ll find him sneaking a shot of a flower girl making silly faces, or finding a unique vantage point during your ceremony.
We view it as a privilege to be a part of your wedding and we look forward to helping make it a success.
"Hiring wedding vendors when planning your wedding remotely is incredibly stressful; I know, because I've been there! And once the big day has come in all its glory, one vendor in particular has a lasting effect: your photographer. I looked through so, so many websites in search of the perfect photographer before I found Oden and Janelle. In fact, I actually sent a panicked second email to Oden and Janelle within an hour of my first, because I knew that they were the only photographers that I could trust with capturing my wedding and I didn't want someone else booking them on my date!
They did such an amazing job that our bridal party, nearly three years down the road, still talk about them on a first name basis and Oden has a budding fan club amongst our groomsmen. Crazy, I know, but I'm not exaggerating.
You can only imagine then how excited I was for the opportunity to work with Oden and Janelle to give other couples the same perfect experience! I grew up in New Mexico and bounced around from the east coast to the west coast, and my husband and I now reside in Northern Michigan with our daughter Sophia. Photography is my passion and my creative outlet, and I can't wait to capture the joy and beauty of your love story unfolding!"get to know you. Working with amazing couples is genuinely the best part of the job. I can’t wait to meet you and hear all about your big day!
